Yes, first impressions can be powerful in lingering influence, but it is often wise and well-advised to give pause and try to step back for considered reflection on contextual meaning, too, to add nuance.  I like the comment of British art critic Christopher P. Jones on the special female viewpoint in the American Impressionist Mary Cassatt&#039;s work like &quot;The Child Bath&quot; (1893): &quot;Cassatt’s paintings are most often indoors, conforming to the restrictions placed on women’s free access to public spaces and to real-life models.&quot;]]></description>
