					<description><![CDATA[What a terrific commentary.  This seems especially poignant to me because I know someone who fits this description precisely.  And his angst and false bravado defensive coping gets grueling -- not only for him, but for others.  It wears down empathy and capacity to remain open and attuned for those around him (including moi), which only creates more vicious circle leading to nowhere useful.  You are absolutely correct about the irony: the paradox is that biting the bullet to be straightforward with empathetic boundaries and honesty would actually produce more desired results for all.  Thank you for this wisdom.]]></description>
