I am one of Ms. Weiss's former clients. The article reminds me of something she worked with me on; and it was a behavior that I needed to change. Once I did, my life stress was greatly reduced. I had a tendency ( that might be an understatement!) to worry a lot about what I needed to do but kept putting off. I remember the day that she told me,kindly, to stop with the excuses. She said, in effect, that I would do it when I really wanted to get it done; and until then I should stop draining my own energy unnecessarily. After that session, I did exactly that. Some things I just decided to not do ever. Some I have since finished. I loved reading this article because it is such a wonderful reminder of the tools she showed me how to use that day. I have experienced each of the choice she writes about. Some things I choose to do nothing, absolutely nothing. I give myself permission to feel no quilt or regret. I am still working on all three, because they do take practice. I have found, however, that it doesn't take long to get a strong understanding, and once I did it once, it has become easier. And these tools have indeed altered my life.
